Hemophilia Walk Agenda and Thank You

October 14, 2008

First, a huge THANK YOU to those who have been very busy signing up more walkers and securing donations over the last couple of days.  As of this moment, we have raised $49,651 and are 99% of the way to our goal.  Something tells me that when I check again after our 'gift bag stuffing party' tonight, we will be over the top!

Since our Walk is only a few days away on Saturday, I thought I would provide a quick overview of the timeline and days events along with this map of the park (PDF, 368kb).

Parking & traffic - the park will be closed to the general public for the duration of our Walk.  As you enter, there will be traffic monitors and stations set up to distribute Walk tee shirts and then direct you to the appropriate parking areas.  The entrance to the Beech Shelter area will be restricted to handicap parking only.

For all walkers - registration begins at 9:00am and there will be two stations.  One (VIP) is for people who have already registered online and the other (Registration - New Walkers) is for those who will be joining us and registering that day.  Any donations collected and brought the day of the Walk can be turned in at either station.  To make thing flow a bit smoother, I would ask that you be able to identify those donations you have already posted as offline on the web site and those that have not been posted yet (keep them clipped separately).  This will allow us to determine quickly what needs to be added to the total amount raised for the Walk.

For volunteers - if you have indicated that you would be interested in volunteering, please be at the park by 8:00am for assignments.  There will be a variety of assignments (some all day, some partial) so if you would like to enjoy the Walk too, that's no problem.  Volunteers will be meeting at the Beech Shelter - Volunteer Tent.

Activities -  there will be a lot of activities beginning at 9am including a visit from the Morrisville Fire Company (who will be in the first parking lot on the right coming in), face painters, stilt walker/juggler, vendor booths and music.  All activities (other than the Morrisville Fire Co) will be in the Beech Shelter area.  Breakfast will be served and the Walk will be followed by a delicious buffet lunch that you can take to go or eat there.  We will also be hosting a Best Tee Shirt contest by secret ballot (random individuals will be selected to vote secretly).  The winner will receive copies of their team picture and thank you notes for all members of their team!  The Walk will begin at 10am.  Festivities should conclude by 12:00noon.

For those not registered yet - there is still time!!!  Come out and join us for this great day.
