Congratulations – You Did It!

October 16, 2009
Goal Achieved!

Well, you did it...and then some! My congratulations to all of you who have been working tirelessly to help reach our goal of $75,000 for the 2009 Hemophilia Walk this Saturday. For only our second annual Hemophilia Walk in North Carolina, you should be very proud of this accomplishment and I know we are going to far surpass this goal by Walk Day. Our efforts, combined with those of the other walk sites and national sponsorships, have raised over $1.1 million dollars so far to help support the National Hemophilia Foundation and local Chapters in research, education, advocacy and awareness. What a terrific job by everyone and my heartfelt thank you for helping to make this possible.

As of this morning, you have raised $76,423 and our thermometer is happily flashing on the site! Many thanks to the MedPro Rx team who helped push us over the top yesterday with some great leadership by Leroy Taylor, team captain, and the generous support of their team members. We would also like to welcome aboard Team Justice with captain Gerquetta Smith heading up the efforts. We have an amazing 35 teams and hundreds of registrants who have been working so hard to make this event such a great success!

The weather is looking great and all the activities are lined up for a terrific day! I look forward to seeing you there.

Our best wishes go out to our fellow chapters who will also be hosting walks this weekend. Southern California is ready to walk on Saturday and our congratulations to them on reaching their goal and raising over $82,000 so far for the event. Arizona is ready to go on Sunday and they are at 97% of their goal which I'm sure they'll reach by walk day!

Sadly, I did not have time to highlight all of our Walk teams in my emails but would like to thank each and every one of them for their wonderful passion & support in getting the word out and helping to reach the goal. I know you're going to miss these updates but unfortunately, this will probably be my last one with the exception of the after Walk final $ tally & recap of the day. Thank you for taking the time to read my messages. I hope they have inspired and encouraged you to make a difference!

Very Sincerely,

— Susan Cowell
