HNC Adult Retreat

Hemophilia of North Carolina is pleased to offer a relaxing and informative weekend retreat to its adult members (age 18 and over) with a bleeding disorder, or parent(s) of a child with a bleeding disorder. Each HNC attendee may bring one adult guest. This event will begin with breakfast reception at 10am and the program at 11am on Saturday, August 12, and conclude after lunch on Sunday, August 13.

The retreat will be held at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside hotel, located on the historic Cape Fear Riverfront, and within walking distance of popular attractions, shopping, and entertainment.

Programming will feature session on Saturday and Sunday. Donnie Akers, General Counsel (pro bono) for the Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) will present Legal Tools for the Road Through Life which focuses on transitioning, medical powers of attorney, financial planning, and more; and Get a Job – the ADA and Your Rights and Benefits in Employment. Aptevo Therapeutics will present Reconnecting the Mind and Body Through Fitness.

The attendees will have plenty of time to relax on the beach and stroll the riverwalk. There also will be an optional off-site trip to The Breakout Room which offers a thrilling and immersive escape room. You will need to use your communication and problem-solving skills to help you to escape. The Breakout Room is just a five minute walk from the Hilton Riverside.

All accommodations, meals, refreshments and activities will be provided at no cost to HNC members and their guests through the generous support of our sponsors and donors.
