Hemophilia of North Carolina (HNC) is inviting men with a bleeding disorder to a one-of-a-kind event! The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on all of us and connecting with each other has been even harder. Just when we thought that we were going to be able to get together for a weekend retreat, we realized that it wasn’t in the cards. But that doesn’t mean that we’re entirely out of luck. Read below about how you can connect both in-person and virtually!

Blood Brotherhood - Men with a Bleeding Disorder

Join us on Saturday, November 20 at 1:00pm at Lake Crabtree County Park in Morrisville for fishing and a picnic lunch. We will be meeting at the White Oak Shelter. We’ll also have cornhole and horseshoes set up. Spouses/partners are welcome to attend as well.

Please indicate on your registration form whether you will need a fishing pole. Fishing licenses are required for anyone who is planning on fishing. All fishing is catch-and-release. The fishing pier is handicap accessible.

Then, on Sunday, November 21 at 2:00pm log onto Zoom for the program, Emerging Therapies, presented by Dr. Steven Pipe. Hear about new and emerging treatments within the bleeding disorders space.

There will be giveaways for everyone who attends in person and virtually. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to network with others with a bleeding disorder in North Carolina.

Registration is required. When you register, please indicate whether you will be attending in-person, virtually, or both, and the number of people attending (adults only).

Gas cards will be provided to those who attend in-person at Lake Crabtree Park. If you plan on attending virtually, HNC will send you an egift card for DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber Eats.

If you are attending virtually only, please let us know if you would like us to send you a box of information and materials. These materials will be distributed to everyone who attends in person.

Register by Tuesday, November 9 to receive your box of materials (virtual attendees) by the event. The final registration deadline is Friday, November 19, 2021. If you have any questions, contact Gillian Schultz, Director of Programs at events@hemophilia-nc.org, or call 919-319-0014.

Masks are required at in-person events for all attendees two and older, as we feel it is in the best interest of the community. When you register, you must agree to respect and abide by the following rules:

  1. Masks will be required for everyone ages two and up.
  2. Maintain physical distance from other families.
  3. If you or anyone in your family are feeling sick or have COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home.
