NHF Washington Days
Wednesday, February 27 – Friday, March 1, 2013
The National Hemophilia Foundation's annual Washington Days empowers individuals in the bleeding disorders community to have an impact the legislative process.
Registration for Washington Days 2013 is now open. This year’s event will take place Wednesday, February 27 through Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA.
This is your opportunity to join others from the bleeding disorders community in Washington, DC to tell elected officials in Congress about the issues that affect you and your family. Join us to:
- Become more informed on critical issues that affect your continued access to high quality care;
- Learn effective grassroots advocacy techniques;
- Meet face-to-face with legislators and staff who shape national healthcare policy.
The program will begin with a first-time attendee workshop on Wednesday afternoon. Our interactive review of the fact sheets and talking points for all participants will take place Wednesday evening and will be followed by a Welcome Reception. On Thursday we hit the Hill for a full day of face-to-face meetings with members of Congress and their staff. We’re switching things up a bit on Thursday evening. This year we are introducing the first-ever “Advocate Recognition Dinner” to celebrate the state advocacy efforts undertaken by various chapters throughout the year. We close on Friday after the State Advocacy Workshop, a training program designed to explore state-specific issues and improve our effectiveness on the state level.
Registrants for Washington Days 2013 are offered a discounted hotel rate of $169 per night plus applicable taxes. This rate is available until Thursday, January 31, 2013. This deadline is based on availability, so please book early to avoid sold out situations. Information explaining how to go about reserving a hotel room under the NHF room block will be available in your confirmation e-mail following submission of your completed registration form.
Mark your calendars to walk the halls of Congress and make your voice heard!
