HNC Camp Reunion Day

Braving the Challenge Course

On Saturday, March 28th some very brave members weathered the stormy day and headed off to Xtreeme Challenge for Camp Reunion Day. At the facility in Monroe, NC, kids and their parents enjoyed the day despite the soggy weather. The zip line was in operation and everyone had fun challenging their fears of stepping off the platform and racing across the lake! The low ropes challenge certainly looked easier than it was but with a little effort and guided expertise from the facilitators, most made it through unscathed.

After a lunch from the grill, representatives from Victory Junction Gang Camp hosted a group activity. We split into two groups and played thumb ball where we each had to answer the questions that our thumbs landed on – great fun and our thanks for VJCG for their support! After lunch we continued with the activities including the balance platform, team events and some wonderful arts & crafts lead by HNC member and camp aficionado, Linda Robertson. Our many thanks to Linda for helping to organize and facilitate the Camp Reunion Day event!

In summary, the day was a great example of how to make lemonade out of lemons. Although Mother Nature did not cooperate, everyone who attended managed to have a great time in the rain and made the best fun of what there was to offer.

Thanks again to Baxter for generously supporting Camp Superfly and the opportunity to fund this experience through our 5th place winnings!
