Special Dinners for Women
Hemophilia of North Carolina's SOAR program invites you to attend a series of very special dinners for women with bleeding disorders. We will be sharing information about self-empowerment, intimacy and family planning in a safe and welcoming setting. Join other women for good conversations while learning from great speakers and enjoying delicious food!
Sponsored by the NHF Victory for Women program, there will be a series of two dinners in three different cities. The first series will focus on self-empowerment and intimacy. Dr. Sue Fletcher, Research and Special Programs Coordinator for Hemophilia of North Carolina, will discuss maintaining a fulfilling and positive life regardless of your symptoms with an emphasis on building and maintaining intimate relationships. The second series will focus on the important issue of family planning with Dr. Tamison Jewett, Professor at Wake Forest Baptist Health, and other experts. This will be an opportunity to discuss your concerns about genetics, contraception, and other issues related to family planning.
A SOAR member will be sharing her own personal journey about living with a bleeding disorder at each dinner. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn how others deal with sensitive issues that affect every day life.
All dinners will be held in private rooms to allow for a free discussion of sensitive topics. Women with bleeding disorders, symptomatic carriers, and mothers of teenage girls with a bleeding disorder are welcome to attend. We ask that you attend both dinners in your area in order to make the most out of this unique opportunity.
