Each year, we take a moment to reflect on what we've accomplished and those who helped to make it happen. Our volunteer base grows stronger every year and we had over 60 people who generously shared their time, talents and resources to help support us this year. Narrowing that list down to one person who we recognize as our Volunteer of the Year is by far one of the most difficult things to do.
Our 2010 Volunteer of the Year is playful, passionate, supportive and family centered. Her contribution goes far beyond the calendar photo shoot where she and her sisters helped support NHF's Victory for Women and raise awareness. She is also a terrific event planner and we have her to thank for finding our Holiday Celebration venue and helping to organize the event. Her bi-lingual skills have helped to translate at the Latin Union meeting so everyone had the opportunity to hear the story of a family that came to the US so their son could live. She is also part of the Women's Advocacy Group and a tireless champion of all the women and girls in the community. Please join us in thanking and congratulating our 2010 Volunteer of the Year – Maria Schnaith-Ivan.
Congratulations to Maria and her family on this award and our many thanks to all those who have dedicated their time and service to HNC over the past twelve months.
